Mr. Edwin is Community engagement, knowledge management and experiential learning expert with
special interests in livelihood development, rural and agricultural extension, Information and
Communication Strategy Development, action research, capacity building and curriculum development.
He possesses a wealth of experience in community and livelihood development work, farmer training
Programmes on food processing and value addition, designing of learner-centred training initiatives,
agricultural extension and rural development, programmatic support, and capacity building. He is also
proficient and adept in curriculum development and design for course and Programmes, training
manuals development and problem-based learning. He has a proven and ability and proficiencies in
communication, report writing and documentation skills. He holds a master’s degree in Community
Studies and Extension, a bachelor’s degree in Community Development and a Certificate in Gender and
Development. He’s also a trained and certified Trainer of Trainers [Erasmus Mundus] and curriculum
development professional. He currently works at the department of Applied Community Development
Studies, Egerton University; He is also currently the technical advisor to Mama na Watoto Organization,
Belgium, Technical resource and support officer for Somali Institute of Public Administration and
Management (SIPAM) under which he’s the country lead (Co-investigator) in the joint PWD
Employability research project and a resident trainer at AfrikaHR. In addition, Edwin has successfully
undertaken a host of capacity building and training consultancies both at community and corporate
levels. He is vastly experienced in community and livelihood development projects and interventions.
