Dr. Omondi is a systems agronomist and soil scientist with experience spanning over 14 years in two
continents, including Africa and various countries on food systems, sustainable cropping systems,
climate-smart crop production, integrated soil fertility management, agronomy, plant nutrition and
physiology, and soil health. His recent focus is on climate-smart, resilience, sustainable intensification, site-specific
digital advisories, and profitability of solutions to the end-users through solutions for meaningful
gains. Dr. Omondi obtained his PhD at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. He has been
researching on climate-smart innovations for productive, profitable, and sustainable cropping systems,
developing agronomic digital tools that provide targeted site-specific solutions in crop management and
production, physiology, and soil health. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters
on agronomy, plant nutrition and physiology, crop production, soil health, and sustainable climate-smart
innovations.
