Mr. Mac-Donald Biwot is a result-driven statistician and GIS Expert with a background in Statistics and
Mathematics from the University of Nairobi. Agricultural He has over 8 YEARS of hands-on experience
in research for development programs in Agriculture, Trade, Livelihood, among other social-economic
sectors. In addition, he has participated in evaluation of development projects and capacity building in
East, Central and West Africa. Over the years, he has cultivated a high degree of self-motivation,
responsibility, and flexibility with valuable competencies in coordinating both baseline, mid and end
line surveys, through designing, planning, executing and supervising data collection, data analysis,
presentations and reporting, quality assurance, and documentation using both quantitative and
qualitative approaches. His research interest is in impact evaluation and analysis of development
interventions, food quality and standards, food security, agricultural value chain analysis, WASH,
agricultural marketing, and policy formulation using various methodologies and approaches including
Qualitative, Quantitative and Mixed Methods of OECD/DAC Evaluation Criteria, Outcome mapping,
Contribution Analysis (CA), Most Significant Stories of Change, Outcome harvesting, Information
mining, etc. He has a vast experience in QUANTITATIVE data techniques using STATA, R, SPSS, Excel,
Limdep and MATLAB. Mr. Biwot has skills in programming CAPI data collection tools including Census
and Survey Processing System (CSPro), Survey CTO, Open Data Kit (ODK) and Kobo Collect and
CommCare data collection software. He is also experienced in QUALITATIVE data techniques
including analysis of Key Informant Interviews (KII), Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and Most
Significant Stories of Change using N-vivo, Atlas ti and Smart PLS. Above all, he has demonstrated
ability in REPORT WRITING and communication skills considering program compliance requirements
for various development partners.
